Introducing our new series; sun, sea & student travel 🌞 We want to give you our favourite student travel hacks and how to holiday on a budget this summer. Let’s get into it, these may seem obvious but will save you serious £££.

Jack’s Flight Club is something which all students should sign up to. They scan the web for you and send you the cheapest flights, discounts and hidden offers right to your inbox. Just an example for you; they recently found £225 return flights to New York…yes you’re right, that is probably cheaper than a weekend out in London.

✈️ When booking a flight, check it out in a different browser
Cookies make it more expensive; each time you look in the same browser the price will go up. Remember to clear your cookies and search history (even better, use a different computer) before booking! Sites like EasyJet and British Airways know when flights are being watched so they raise the prices, and we all know students want to travel as cheaply as possible.
✈️ Buy your flight on a Tuesday
Research has shown that a lot of airline companies launch discounts on Monday nights, so according to Skyscanner and their data, you can save 15-25% on flight booking on a Tuesday. Booking flights on the weekends is definitely more expensive!
Also, another quick tip which may seem obvious is don’t fly Friday – Monday. You’re a student, so take advantage of your time off and fly mid-week. Flying on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays is going to be cheaper, it’s a given.

✅ Create a Booking.com account
For those of you who are unaware, booking.com is probably the best place to go to look for hotels/villas/apartments when you’re jet-setting all around the world. They’ve got everything and anything all in one central hub.
You can sign up for their loyalty programme FOR FREE. There are discounted stays at over 390,000 places to stay of which you get up to a 20% discount. And the more you use the loyalty programme, the more discounts you get. The loyalty programme doesn’t only include discounts, it includes free breakfast and priority support.

✅ Stay in Hostels
Don’t knock ’em till you’ve tried’ em, hostels really aren’t the be-all and end-all. At the end of the day, how much time are you actually going to spend in your room when you’re in a foreign country?
Trust me with this one…the further you go the cheaper hostels get and the nicer they become.
